Data recording is based on visits. The system detects when a pig enters
the monitoring position and also when it leaves. The start and end time
of each visit is recorded and, while the pig is under the camera, many
images are grabbed and processed.

At the end of the visit the median of
the weight estimates is recorded in the database along with the image.
Simple visual set-up
The image processing software handles each camera in a separate window
and each camera can monitor up to 4 positions (frames), for example a 4 space feeder or trough.
The centre of each frame is shown with a red circle and
selecting the frame allows it to be dragged to a new position and
calibrated.
Optimised
processing
All visit images can be stored and viewed later or used to optimise the
processing.
The processed image shows the 3 prime areas of the pig
outlined in different colours.
Graphical
views of the weight distribution of the pen
The weight distribution report presents all the visits for a day
in graphical form so the weight distribution of the pen can be seen. The
image for each visit can be viewed by using the mouse to select the visit. The data can also be viewed as a histogram.

At the end of each day the pen median weight along with
the low and high weights are recorded. These are presented graphically
as growth curves.
