 Vista
is a visual system for monitoring a pen of light coloured pigs. It can be used in
commercial growing / finishing operations to automatically determine the
weight distribution and growth rate of the pigs in the pen.A single camera can monitor up to 4
adjacent positions, such as a 4 space feeder, and up to 16 cameras can be
connected to one computer.
Typical applications include using Vista to monitor a single pen in a room of
similar pens with similar aged pigs on the same diet, to give an indication of
the performance of the entire room.
Vista uses cameras mounted on the ceiling above a feeder, drinker or passage
way. The cameras are connected to a computer and the computer software
runs continuously, collecting data and reporting it to the user as graphical
information.
